A Point of Light

Jesus Christ is the only way to break out of the cycle of life and death. God intended us to follow a straight line--toward himself. Eventually, all of creation will converge on a single point. The point of history. The point of our lives. The point of light that never flickers or fades.

God created us for himself. In the beginning there was no birth and death. God just made stuff and it was there. God's intention was that He would be at the center of creation. But people have disobeyed God and put themselves at the center. As a result, God sentenced people to the circle of life and death. It's kind of like a prison. But Jesus Christ's perfect life and his death on the cross paid the penalty for our sin. He opened the prison door so that we can escape the circle. Now we can follow a straight line that leads to God himself.

Ephesians 1:9 "And he made known to us the mystery of his will...to be put into effect when the times have reached their fulfillment--to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ."
