The first step is to make peace with
God by kicking the sin habit. Jesus Christ was the only man who was not a sin junkie. In
fact, he never sinned at all, because he was God himself. He didn't deserve to die, but he
was killed on a cross to take the punishment we deserved for our sin habit. He rose from
the dead to prove that he has power over sin and death.
Now that our sin has been punished, we can be restored to our proper relationship with God. We can hang out with God and put him in charge of our lives. When everybody puts God in charge of their lives, he makes everything work out really cool. Making peace with God is the first step in getting real peace.
Ephesians 2:14 "For [Jesus] himself is our peace, who has made the two one,
and destroyed the dividing wall of hostility."
Romans 5:1 "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with
God through our Lord Jesus Christ, throught whom we have gained access by faith into this
grace in which we now stand."
Romans 5:10 "For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through
the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his
life?"
