Flowers and the Circle of LifeFlowers are beautiful, man. They make you feel all groovy and mellow inside. Also, they're, like, really round, just like life. Everything goes around and around, and it never stops at any place in particular. At the center of the flower you've got the most important part, where all the heavy stuff goes on, like pollenization and making seeds. This is where bees and butterflies like to hang out. Around the middle part, you've got the petals. Some people think the petals are the most important part because they usually come in colors that everybody digs. But the petals are only there for the really important part at the center. The groovy colors attract bees and stuff so they can pollenate the flower, man. They all point to the center. |

People are like flowers, man. They've got an outside and an inside. Lots of people think the stuff on the outside is the most important. They try to impress people with their clothes, their jewelry, their hair, their pad (house), their chick (girlfriend), their car, etc. Those aren't the really important things. They should point to who you really are on the inside, man. That's where it's happening! Who are you man? Do your flower's petals point to a place where something really heavy is going on? A lot of people focus on the "petals" in their life, because they know there's really nothing much going down on the inside, and they don't want to face it. |
We found some heavy stuff in the Bible about
flowers. In 1 Peter 1:24-25, it says, "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever." Remember how we said, like, flowers are round? This is really heavy. They go around and around, germinating from a seed, growing into a flower, making more seeds, and dying. The "circle of life" man! Is everything trapped in the circle, going around and around forever? |

No way, man! The Bible says "the word of the Lord stands forever." It doesn't die or change, man. It's the thing you can hang on to. Now dig this: People can also escape the circle. 1 Peter 1:23 says "For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God."
You can get something really heavy going down in the center of your life if you dig the imperishable word of God. Dig it!
