Before this they were always
hanging out with God. But after eating the fruit they tried to hide from him. Of course
God found them (it was his pad, after all.) He kicked them out and wouldn't let them hang
out there any more.
When they ate the fruit they got hooked on sin. Sin means that you try to run your own life. It means you don't trust God. Instead of letting God take care of everything, you try to do it yourself. You can probably figure out that God does not dig sin.
Sin must be punished. The punishment for sin is death. That means spiritual death (separation from God) and physical death. After God kicked them out of His pad, people started getting sick and dying, and they had to get jobs. Sin is really a drag, because it separates us from God.
Genesis 3:7 "Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized
they were naked; so they sewed the fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
Then the man and the woman heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the
garden...and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden."
Genesis 3:23 "So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the
ground."
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death"
